And rounding out my week of songs? Ms. Alanis.
Life is going to give us lessons that frankly, we don’t want. Trust me, I’ve been living a lifetime of them. I think the important thing to realize is that you are learning. It’s making you a better, wiser person.
But, how about changing things up… throwing Mr. Life an audible… and instead of letting life just dole out lesson after lesson, why not be proactive and go after the lessons you DO want? Maybe learn for fun? Purposely put yourself in a place to learn – like this kid:
How much fun does that look?!! While I wish I had the time to traipse all over the planet, I just don’t. Plus I’m already touring the pacific rim this year. So instead, I’m going to keep it local… like REALLY local, and head down the road to the first annual South Bay Yoga Conference to support a few of the things/people I love in this world- my favorite yoga teachers, my favorite yoga friends, my favorite community, and hopefully learn something new along the way.
I want to learn about Iyengar, Kundalini, and perfecting my handstand. Take a class from one of my favorite teachers, Jamie Horgan. See if I can sneak into Wendy Garafalo or Keary Ann Bixby‘s class. Meditation with Chelsea Welch and Matt Rothert.
If you’re in the South Bay this weekend, come visit me, I’ll be registering people on Sunday… and guess what I’ll be doing Friday and Saturday? Learning a thing or two.
