I am going to venture to guess 99% of you are going to ignore this and any other post about The Bachelorette. So this post is really for the 1% ers. No, not those 1% ers.
I missed a couple of weeks of Emily Maynard and crew while I was away in Thailand. I only have a a couple of comments regarding those two episodes:
First, I love Emily. I love that she did cookie baking on a first date. That is awesome. Speaking of cookie recipes, my favorite recipe is the Ground Oats Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe. The oats make all the difference:

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 4 ounces milk chocolate, grated
- 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Measure oats into a blender or food processor, and then blend to a fine powder. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, oats, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir dry ingredients into creamed butter and sugar. Add chocolate chips, grated chocolate, and nuts.
- Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes in the preheated oven.

Second, I love that Emily has ‘normal’ friends and that she had her friends grill them. That is what I would do. I love that she basically dictated how this gig was gonna play out. Her friends seem like normal, everyday people. Not size negative 3s with stilettos in Charlotte. She rolls with a decent crowd.
Alright, now onto last night’s ep.
Just a few thoughts, I won’t recap the whole show.

Ok- when did the Mushroom Farmer get so adorbs? I never noticed him before. He’s kinda cute.

Doug – Ugh.
Doug. I feel the same as Emily… it’s like watching a job interview and someone saying, “what is your biggest weakness?” And you say, “I don’t know when to stop for the day.” Or whatever. According to this Celebritynewsandstyle.com article, Doug has a bit of a shady past and perhaps that is what he is trying to hide. And later…. D- UGH! He doesn’t ever make the first move? Wtf. That puts her in the man position! That’s puts him in the lady position! That ain’t what Em wants. Pretty sure of it.
Sean is cute- I love how he is so FridayNightLights-meets-VarsityBlues-meets-TheJonases.
Charlie and Nate– you are on TV. Do not cry. Hold it in, cry in your room when you get home. I repeat, there is a camera in yo face.

Jef is kinda slow and awkward in the blanket on the group date? Oui? Non? I guess that’s part of the hipster profile he needs to keep up. From what I understand, he is LDS, so no Pabst Blue Ribbon for you my friend. But I am diggin your knee-high blue socks with Bermuda shorts- in Bermuda. Nice touch.

Hot Ryan. Is losing steam fast and getting grosser by the minute. He should just keep his mouth shut, look pretty, and run with more dogs.
The rest? Meh.
I did love the 25/30/35 age banter between the guys. I agree that there are some differences. I’m like night and day from 25 to 35. Seriously. You just don’t care anymore about lame stuff. It is so much more fun. You’ll get it one day, Chicago Chris.
Who got the boot? Nerdy Stacey Jaxx out. Head injury Charlie out. Til next week…
I’m the 1% and proud. 🙂 Ryan needs to hit the bricks, he’s icky and Doug is too much of a “yes” man. She kicks somebody out next week for calling her daughter “baggage”.
