Nothing Like a Warm Stick on your Body

First of all, I’m not that desperate. Secondly, seriously, get your minds out of the gutter.

I am referring to Warm Bamboo Sticks!  And I am in love.

Again, people. It is so much more innocent than that! This is a type of massage that is slowly becoming available here in SoCal. If you don’t know anything about it, www.warmbamboo.com gives a really nice overview of this amazing style of massage.

On my trip to NY last month, I was fortunate to stumble upon a little spa in the Dumbo area of Brooklyn called the Green Stone Spa. It was here, I met perhaps the best masseuse of my life… Michelle.

This gal did it all. I mean ALL OF IT. And in sixty minutes. She started out with Swedish. Then found some crazy knots in my rotator cuff, so Swedish became Deep Tissue. But there was still more to be done. And then we were into Thai massage. She was up on my back pulling me into Bow pose. The finale was Sticks and Stones… hot stones and hot, smooth, miraculous coma-inducing bamboo sticks.

I could not believe my luck. All of this? All in one? Was it possible? It was possible and so amazing. I have been tearing apart LA to find the equivalent of this master, but to no avail. If anyone hears of Warm Bamboo Massage, please let me know. And no, I will not take recommendations in the OC- I’m too lazy to drive down there. I guess I’ll just have to go back to Brooklyn!!
